PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – Athletic trainers and members of the elite sports center work with a non-profit organization to help people with special needs.
The people who are part of the center work with the Wood County Society to provide fitness classes for people with special needs. The sessions are known as the “Temple Challenge” and can provide these people with a chance for physical fitness that they may not get.
They create opportunities to make these activities enjoyable for those affected with special needs, and there are specialists who can help those who are limited in their options.
“Yes, so you can change everything we do. And that’s the joy of it. And that each of them has a helper, and it’s amazing to see this relationship grow between the customer and the helper that I have provided for them, ”said Stacy Houser, founder of Temple Challenge.
The partnership has existed for two years.
