Indian Army conducts aerial exercises

The exercise included parachute dropping and fighting heavy loads, including vehicle-mounted anti-tank and anti-aircraft missile units

The Indian army held an airborne drill at a base in the central sector on Saturday to test its ability to respond quickly, officials said.

The exercise was preceded by a series of intense preparations that included joint planning and integration between the Indian Army and Indian Air Force (IAF), they said.

The exercise included paratroopers parachute dropping and fighting heavy loads, including vehicle-mounted anti-tank and anti-aircraft missile divisions, over a designated target area from C-130 and AN-32 aircraft.

Officials said the exercise also validated 72 hours of intense integrated combat drills with mechanized forces, demonstrating clockwise precision and seamless integration between aircraft, mechanized forces and the IAF.

The exercise is said to have taken place on a base in Rajasthan.
